What’s New in SharePoint 2013: NewsFeed & Facebook style micro-blogging
SharePoint 2013 provides NewsFeed to do Micro-Blogging and sharing the thoughts as we are doing in Facebook.
Pointing a User and Post a Comment : Mentions
Type the ‘@’ followed by the user you want to point. Auto suggestion is also available as below
Here Satish mentioned my name and did a Comment “Hi Mani ..” which is available in the “Mentions” tab of my page.
How many people did a “Like”:
Adding Pictures:
We can add the picture allow as a comment as shown below:
Where these entries are getting stored:
This News Feeds are stored in a SharePoint List named “MicroFeed” which gets created when a News Feed is added.
Click Gear icon in top of the page and select “Site Contents”.
Inside the Microfeed list we will have entries for the NewsFeed lists. Currently I have two News Feed entries which are available as below.
Clicking the Title link will show all the entries that is done in NewsFeed.
